In yet another case of mob violence in the state, a man was beaten to death by the angry mob in Rajasthan’s Alwar reportedly in the wake of a road accident.

As per the preliminary information, the victim identified as 28-year-old Harish Jatav was riding a two-wheeler when he accidentally rammed his vehicle into an elderly lady. He was then surrounded by a group of locals who beat him to death in broad daylight.

On Thursday evening, Jatav was crossing through Jhirana village when all of a sudden he lost control of his motorcycle and accidentally rammed it into an elderly lady.

In no time, he was surrounded by a group of locals who thrashed him brutally and left him on the street in a pool of blood.

The victim who belongs to the Dalit community was rushed to a local health care centre. He was later refered to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi where he succumbed to severe head  injuries incurred during the assault.

Meanwhile, Jatav’s body has been sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered and the investigation into the matter in underway.

In a similar incident, three men were beaten to death by locals in the Saran district of Bihar over suspicion of cattle theft. The incident took place in Baniyapur in Saran district on Friday.

In Jharkhand on June 18, Tabrez Ansari 24 was lynched by a mob in Kharsawan district on alleged suspicion of theft. He was tied to a pole and beaten mercilessly for several hours by a mob before being handed over to the police. 11 men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case and two police officers were suspended.
